Inspiration:

When I thought of ‘Monarch’ I did so as a direct result of the ‘Papillon’ idea. I wanted one of the butterflies to be one of those that had had taken the step into the unknown, into freedom and taken flight. This time though, the pose came by accident, during a photoshoot with West End performer Danielle Cato. She was moving into different positions while wearing a thin veil-like dress, and the idea to lift it up at the sides was born. I see Monarch as not only a butterfly, but also, after Papillon's, a queen, a performer (like Danielle herself) who is now able to express herself.
