A memorial fund was set up for Andrew Wood, who passed away on 17 April 2005. I was commissioned in 2005 by Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys in Kent, where Andrew was a pupil, to produce a sculpture in his memory.

A design incorporating a football was requested as Andrew loved football and after consultation with Mr & Mrs Wood, the design was agreed. The sculpt was installed in the school's quiet area in December 2005.
